Frequently Asked Questions

what ist this for ? are you making money with it or selling the tracks ?
no, we are doing this just for fun - but who knows, if any label will be interested...we will let all participants know
do i have to pay something or am i doing any contract with you ?
no, there's nothing to pay and no contract, all the rights of your track stays yours!
where do those prices come from and why ?
all prices are either donations from a sponsor [xoxshop.de, audiorealism.se, modemachines.com, d16.pl],
or donations from participants - just to make all more interesting
i made a very nice track last year, can i use this ?
if it's unpublished, that means in any way like on commercial CDs, or on soundcloud or something else - yes you can
i dont own a TB303, a x0xb0x or other 303 clones, can i nevertheless be part of the Acid Battle ?
even if you are using a pencil squeaking on the table for that noises - yes you can! - but you should know WHAT acid means...

are there any guidelines for the meaning of ACID ?
yes, the tracks must be: between 115 - 145 BPM, straight 4/4 Beat, classic acid in a way of "phuture" or similar style
it is easier to explain with some examples: here, here, here or here and here - that is what is meant with Classic ACID
If no Style is anounced then also Acid-trance, Acid-House and other Acid-Styles are welcome.

technical:
in which quality the uploaded track should be?
minimum should be a mp3 at 192khz or better
can i use loudness maximizer ?
shure - therefore please use this tool - if the "DR peak" is lower than 10 - it is to loud! If it is 10 or more - it's ok.
This is for approximately the same loudness of all tracks, so everyone gets nearly the same chance.
why tracks should not be longer than 10 minutes ?
it is interest in their own to keep it short, we recommend 4-5 minutes, because it can be tiring to listen to so many tracks
